Ingredients
This protein chocolate recipe is incredibly simple. It only requires five basic ingredients that you probably already have at home. No need for protein powder!
- Cocoa powder: for healthier hot chocolate, opt for natural cocoa powder without added sugars.
- Granular sweetener: this recipe uses erythritol, but you can replace with any granular sweetener of your choice, such as xylitol and stevia. Or use coconut sugar or brown sugar, if you prefer.
- Preferred milk: this recipe works with any type of milk, dairy or dairy-free. For a hot chocolate that is higher in protein, go for soy milk, pea milk or cow milk.
- Egg whites: for convenience, this recipe uses liquid egg whites in brick.
- Dark chocolate: this recipe can be prepared with dark chocolate, or dairy chocolate if you prefer. For a healthier protein hot chocolate, use sugar-free dark chocolate.
