Course: Dessert, Low Calorie
Cuisine: Italian
Servings: 1 servings
- 15 grams (1 1/2 tbsp) cocoa powder
- 1 to 2 tbsp granular sweetener (to taste)
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) preferred milk
- 120 ml (1/2 cup) liquid egg whites
- 15 grams (0.5 oz.) dark chocolate
Whisk together cocoa powder, granular sweetener and milk in a nonstick saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat until the powders have dissolved and the milk starts bubbling.
When the milk is hot, pour in the egg whites, lower the heat and simmer protein hot chocolate, while whisking. After two to five minutes, after the protein cocoa mixture has thickened, melt in chopped dark chocolate and give a good stir.
Remove from heat and transfer to a mug. For a creamier protein hot chocolate, blend the mixture after cooking.
