Ingredients

This cinnamon tortilla recipe is embarrassingly easy. You only need 4 simple ingredients and 10 minutes of your day. Did I got you hooked? Keep on reading, here’s all you need to make low calorie cinnamon rolls with wraps.

  • Tortillas: When choosing tortillas, prefer flour-based tortillas that are soft; they will roll more easily without breaking. You can also opt for wholegrain or high-protein options.
  • Cream cheese: Together with sweetener and ground cinnamon, cream cheese is a key ingredient for the filling. For lower calories I used low-fat cream cheese, but feel free to replace with full-fat products. In case you don’t eat dairy, substitute with plant based cream cheese.
  • Granular sweetener: For sugar-free cinnamon rolls that are lower in calories and carbs, this recipe uses erythritol. You can replace with another keto granular sweetener (such as xylitol), coconut sugar or brown sugar.
  • Ground cinnamon: This is a key spice for making…ehmCinnamon rolls with wraps! No substitutes.

Low calorie frosting with yogurt

These rolls come with a yogurt based frosting that is sugar-free, low in calories and packed with protein. Although it is optional, the icing gives your tortilla dessert the traditional cinnamon roll vibes. It’s very simple to make, you only need 2 basic ingredients:

  • Greek yogurt: I chose nonfat Greek yogurt, a nutritious addition to this guilt-free dessert. If you prefer, replace with full-fat Greek yogurt, Skyr, quark, soy yogurt or any plant based alternative of your choice. Also cream cheese works great.
  • Granular sweetener: Same as before, you can swap out erythritol for your favorite granular sweetener, coconut sugar or brown sugar.

  • Serve your lazy cinnamon rolls with a source of protein, such as Greek yogurt, quark, cottage cheese or soy yogurt.

How to make cinnamon rolls with tortilla

First, you’ll need to prepare the healthy cinnamon “sugar”. It’s so quick and simple: put granular sweetener and ground cinnamon in a small bowl and mix.

Once you’re done with the cinnamon sugar, it’s time to prepare the tortilla cinnamon rolls. Spread about 1 1/2 tablespoon of cream cheese over each wrap, then sprinkle with the cinnamon “sugar” you’ve just made. Cut each wrap into 6 stripes of 3 cm (1.2 inches) each, then place two stripes one over the other and roll them up tightly. In total you should get six rolls, three for each wrap.

Air fry at 160°C (320°F) for about 8 minutes or bake in hot oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes. After baking, you can serve alone or with icing on top. For the icing, whisk together Greek yogurt with granular sweetener. Should the mixture be too thick, thin it with about 1 teaspoon of milk. Drizzle over the cinnamon rolls and enjoy.

Congratulations. You just made quick and easy cinnamon rolls with tortilla wraps! Incredibly delicious and with just 49 calories.
