I came up with this recipe when I was 17. At the time I was using egg whites for basically everything. Protein crepes, pancakes, pizza…And even egg white focaccia. Or I should rather say, egg white protein focaccia without yeast!
Ingredients for protein focaccia
This high protein focaccia recipe is so simple. It requires just five ingredients, no yeast and no protein powder! No protein powder because this recipe uses liquid egg whites.
Here is all you need to make egg white focaccia.
- Flour of choice: for a healthier focaccia, this recipe uses oat flour. Feel free to utilize any flour you want, best if it is whole-wheat.
- Egg whites: for convenience I recommend liquid egg whites in brick, but you can also separate the egg whites from yolks.
- Olive oil: I recommend extra virgin olive oil because it has the best taste and nutritional benefits. Replace with avocado oil, walnut oil or pumpkin seed oil.
- Sea salt: a must for a flavorsome focaccia.

Focaccia isn’t focaccia without toppings. From tomatoes to mozzarella, the ways how you can top your egg white focaccia are literally endless. But in case you still need inspiration, here are some ideas for you!

How to make protein focaccia
In a bowl whisk together flour, sea salt, olive oil and egg whites. Mix well, until you get a lump-free batter.
Heat a medium nonstick skillet, greased with oil or butter if necessary.
Pour the batter into hot pan and cover with a lid. Cook over medium heat for around 2 minute, then top with tomatoes or other toppings if you desire. Flip the protein focaccia and cook on the other side.
