Pancakes Sunday what?! We now have pancakes for breakfast everyday.

If you like quick and easy recipes, make these easy banana protein pancakes. Seriously, these pancakes come together in under 10 minutes and are so healthy that you can have them whenever you want.

4 ingredient protein pancakes recipe

This is the easiest banana protein pancakes recipe ever. It comes together with just 4 main ingredients that you probably already have.

banana pancakes recipe with protein powder

Here is all you need for the basic banana pancakes recipe:

  • Ripe banana
  • Egg
  • Oat flour (or oats or flour)
  • Protein powder

You can substitute oat flour with any flour that comes handy for you. Or use directly rolled oats! To make oatmeal banana protein pancakes, all you have to do is adding all ingredients to a blender before processing until smooth.

Additional ingredients

On the top of the basic recipe, you can bring your protein pancakes to the next level with some additional ingredients. Here are some ideas for you, but feel free to pick and choose whatever comes to your mind. The sky’s the limit!

  • Ground cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract
  • Peanut butter
  • Chocolate chips
  • Walnut chunks

And if you have the sweet tooth

Whenever I make these easy protein pancakes, I never add any additional sweetener. I find that the ripe banana and protein powder are enough – especially if the protein powder is flavored.

But if you are a sweet person, feel free to add some maple syrup or honey to this recipe. And if after baking you realize that the pancakes aren’t sweet enough, serve your protein stack with some maple syrup or honey!

Milk only if necessary

This easy banana protein pancakes recipe uses whey protein powder.

If you are familiar with whey, you probably know that it tends to dissolve pretty easily. That’s why this recipe does not require any extra milk.

However, if you are making these banana pancakes with plant based protein powder, you will likely need a couple tablespoons of milk to get a smooth pancake batter. My recommendation is to start with one tablespoon milk and pour in some more while you mix.

How to make banana protein pancakes

Making this 4-ingredient banana protein pancake recipe is so quick and easy. It comes together in under 10 minutes, cooking time included!

Here’s how to make these easy protein pancakes.

  1. In a medium bowl mash one large banana.
  2. Once the banana is mashed, add in one egg and stir until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Sift in (oat) flour, protein powder (plus optional baking powder and any additional ingredient you like). Stir banana protein pancakes batter until combined, but do not over-mix.
  4. Pour one scoop batter into a preheated and greased pan. Cook your banana pancakes over medium heat until bubbles begin to appear on the surface, then flip with a spatula and cook until golden.

Finally, serve your protein pancakes with some sliced banana, maple syrup and peanut butter if you desire. Enjoy!

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder (optional, see notes*)

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/3 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 tsp vanilla extract
  • maple syrup or honey (to taste)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl mash one large banana.

Notes

  • Replace oat flour with any flour of your choice or with oats. If you make these banana protein pancakes with oats, blend all ingredients until oats have become flour.

  • Baking powder is not necessary but you can add it for fluffier pancakes.

    Hi Matteo..

Iโ€™ve been looking for a banana pancake recipe that actually incorporates mashed bananas (canโ€™t eat them whole or sliced, yuck!) and found yours. So I gave them a whirl and I was not disappointed. I used chocolate protein powder and smothered them with a little melted chocolate and they were heavenly. These will be made at least 2 or 3 times a week from now on with different powders and toppings. Iโ€™m currently sat here thinking half peanut and chocolate powder would be a nice combo. Thanks for the recipe, itโ€™s definitely going to be a staple for me ??
