Recipe ingredients
The recipe for blueberry yogurt clusters is very simple. Blueberries, Greek yogurt, and melted chocolate, you only need 3 ingredients. Make sure to read further for all details, recommendations and replacements.
- Blueberries. You can make yogurt clusters with fresh or frozen blueberries, but I highly recommend the former. Fresh blueberries are juicier, sweeter and have more flavor in comparison to frozen fruit.
- Greek yogurt. This recipe uses nonfat plain Greek yogurt, but also 2% or full fat Greek yogurt works. For dairy-free vegan clusters, replace with a firm nondairy yogurt such as soy yogurt. You can also use vanilla flavored yogurt, if you want. It will make your frozen blueberry snacks even more delicious.
- Melted chocolate. I like coating my blueberry yogurt clusters into extra dark chocolate. It has little sugar, tastes delicious and melts very well. You can replace with any type of chocolate, sugar-free or vegan if it is necessary.
Besides these 3 ingredients, you may need some maple syrup or honey to sweeten the yogurt. I did not add any sweetener, the frozen blueberry yogurt bites are already sweet and tasty on their own. But if you have the sweet tooth or if you prepare this recipe for kids, then you should consider stirring the yogurt with a couple tablespoons of maple syrup.
How to make frozen blueberry yogurt clusters?
- In a large bowl, stir Greek yogurt with maple syrup or honey if it is necessary. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries, washed very well beforehand.
- Spoon out some of the mixture and form clusters. I got 6 large pieces. Place the blueberry clusters onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Freeze for about 1-2 hours or until the yogurt is firm.
- Melt dark chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Depending on the type of chocolate, you may need to add about 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. The oil facilitates the melting process.
- Once the yogurt is firm, remove your clusters from the freezer. Dip each one into the melted dark chocolate, then place them back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Freeze for about 30 minutes until the chocolate sets and forms a crunchy layer around the yogurt blueberry clusters. Store in an airtight container in the freezer.

Success tips
- Stir blueberries with vanilla Greek yogurt, preferably low fat and sugar-free. The vanilla flavor will take your clusters to the next level, sweet and oh so delicious. As an alternative, you can also replace regular Greek yogurt with high protein yogurt.
- Sweeten the blueberry yogurt mixture with a couple tablespoons of maple syrup or honey, if you have the sweet tooth. Feel free to use another sweetener, such as erythritol or monk fruit sweetener for a low sugar and low calorie treat.
- Melt dark chocolate with a teaspoon of coconut oil, if it is necessary. There are different types of chocolate with different percentages of cocoa, and some are harder to melt. A bit of coconut oil should solve this issue.
- Experiment with different fruit such as strawberries or banana, add extra ingredients such as chopped nuts, or coat in white chocolate. The ways how you can customize these frozen yogurt snacks are endless.
- Make vegan blueberry yogurt cluster by using plant based yogurt and extra dark chocolate without milk. I recommend soy Skyr and Lindt 85% dark chocolate, so delicious.
Storage directions
To store blueberry yogurt clusters, first ensure they are completely frozen and the chocolate coating is set. Transfer the clusters from the baking sheet into an airtight container and freeze. If properly stored, yogurt clusters can last for up to two months. When you’re ready to enjoy them, take out the desired amount and let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly before eating.
