They’re incredibly simple to prepare, whether you use your oven or air fryer—no dehydrator or special equipment needed. Just bake thin apple slices for about 2 hours, and you’ll end up with deliciously crispy fruit chips. Perfect for you, or for your kids.

Which are the best apples for chips?

  3. Arrange chips – Arrange the sliced apples over the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart. Make sure that the apple slices do not overlap, as they won’t get crisp. If it is necessary, bake in multiple slices or in two separate baking sheets.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon – Sprinkle both sides of the apple slices with ground cinnamon.
  5. Oven bake – Bake in hot oven at 200°F for 1 hour, then flip and bake on the other side for 1 hour more. Let cool for at least 30 minutes in the oven before serving.

Air fryer apple chips
