If you are looking for an easy and healthy dessert recipe, I may have something for you. This 3 ingredient chocolate mug cake comes together in the microwave in under 2 minutes. No need for flour, oil, banana or nut butter!
Spray a small microwave safe mug with oil, so that the chocolate cake will not stick.
In the prepared mug, slightly beaten the egg, then add cocoa powder and maple syrup. Using a spoon or fork, stir well until all ingredients are combined and you get a smooth chocolate cake batter.
Microwave on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute (or bake in hot oven at 180°C/ 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes). Make sure to not overcook your mug cake otherwise it will dry.
After cooking the chocolate mug cake, you can either let it in the bowl or take it out and transfer to a dessert plate. For the best taste, let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Healthy Chocolate Topping
In a small bowl stir together cocoa powder with sweetener of choice (to taste) and milk to consistency
Use the cream to top your 3 ingredient chocolate cake.
