- 700 grams (1 ½ lb) Russet potatoes replace with Yukon gold potatoes or sweet potatoes
- 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika optional
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Scrub the potatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or impurities. Leave the skin on for added nutrients and texture.
Cut the potatoes into even-sized slices, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
Place the potato slices into a large bowl filled with cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes. After soaking, remove the fries from the water and pat dry with a clean towel completely.
In a separate large bowl, combine olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together to combine the oil with the seasonings
Add the dried potato slices to the bowl and toss them gently to coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.
Arrange the seasoned fries on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
Bake in hot oven for 25-35 minutes, flipping halfway through. Keep an eye on the fries to prevent burning, they are ready when golden brown and crispy.
Serve with a sprinkle of fresh herbs and your favorite dipping sauce.
